I was looking into a plow for my King quad eps, I was leaning towards the warn setup but I was wondering what you guys thought, I was also looking at the polaris glacier setup. Does anyone know if any manufactors mounts will hook up to there push tubes? Best on the market , it fits the Suzuki perfect. Polaris glacier will not work! I sell both Polaris and Suzuki. Get the set up with the push tubes , the new warns are made over seas , in china and are definitely not the warn that they once were. We are actually cutting our ties with warn, way to many issues and unsatisfied customers. Any other winches will do because they are all made in china, difference is the others are much cheaper, and why pay more for a foreign product, when they are all equally crap.

Tweet Whether you are responsible for removing snow from your own personal driveway or if you are a commercial snow removal contractor responsible for multiple accounts, the purchasing of snow removal equipment is an investment and there are many important considerations before you buy. To help sort out all of the elements involved in purchasing a snow plow and to find the right plow match for you, use this list as a basic guideline.
Buy a quality plow and establish a quality relationship with your local dealer. The relationship between you and your snow plow dealer is vital throughout the entire time you own your plow, and it all begins with the first purchase. Your dealer is going to be there to help you with the installation and initial setup of your plow, but sure to ask if installation is included in the price or if it is an additional cost.
The importance of your dealer does not end after you purchase a snow plow. For the duration of time that you own your plow, your dealer will be able to assist you with maintenance questions, spare parts, and repairs. What kind of plowing you will be doing and what it means for your budget. Once you find a dealer to buy from, the next step is to determine what size plow will be best for you and your budget. If you own a UTV or ATV, consider the V and Straight blade options for personal use at home or at camp, as their plowing capabilities are almost equal to the efficiency of those of a plow for smaller sized pick-up trucks.
Generally, commercial snow removal professionals need to clear snow quickly and efficiently. The multi-position capabilities of V-plow will make plowing snow easier and faster, keeping you moving from one job to the next. Prices for commercial grade equipment will vary. V In short, both plows are tough enough to get the job done.

I have the Quick Mount system on mine which allows me to remove the plow by removing one rod. Swisher also makes a bunch of other attachments that hook to the mount system.
The plow is a beast, heavier than any other I looked at.

It costs to much and takes too long to build a quality plow from scratch, unless your unemployed or only make minimum wage in that your time isnt worth much. I would assume that since you live in a private community your doing something right and can afford to buy a real plow. It’s cool other members of this site as well as myself have taken on the task of building our own plow but I havent seen any homemade plow pics or even built one myself that can compare to a Moose plow and its price.

Click to email this to a friend Opens in new window When people think about planting the back 40, plowing a long driveway or moving heavy things, a tractor quickly comes to mind. After all, a tractor can do it all. A four-by-four tractor is the most useful piece of equipment to have around any size farm, whether it is a full-time operation or a small hobby farm.
The problem is a four-by-four tractor can cost a small fortune, and sometimes justifying the expense, especially if you are a small farmer, can be difficult. Also, tractors can be extremely expensive to fix. If you are thinking about buying a tractor to plant food plots, plant farm fields or do chores around the farm, realize there is another option.
You can turn an ATV into a workhorse. Almost everyone I know has an ATV of some kind—they are so darn useful and affordable today! You might be thinking that a four-by-four quad is very different from a tractor, and although that is true, a good ATV can do many farm chores faster, easier and more economically than a tractor can.
Anybody push snow with a 4 Wheeler (ATV) and if so what size are you using?
We get quite a bit of snow here in New England and I have learned from plowing with ATV’s that it’s much easier wear and tear on a machine when you keep up plowing with a storm. When I hear the forcast and they predict a major ‘Noreaster I will let the snow accumilate about a foot then I hit it, when it’s another foot I will hit it again, and so on.
I found it’s much easier on the machine and causes less overheating and added stress.
The system has been engineered from the ground up and extensively tested to give the product years of service, so you and your vehicle can plow season after season. The ProVantage Side x Side Plow System has the same rapid connection system as the ATV system, but it uses a big Side x Side specific 72” plow blade to move material.

To get the most use out of your winch, you need to take the time to understand its operation. The general operating principles and techniques are the same for most winches. Then, practice using your winch before using it on the trail. In a typical winch, the electric motor provides power to the reduction gear mechanism, which turns the winch drum and winds the wire rope.
A winch is equipped with a brake and a clutch. The brake automatically engages the winch drum when the winch motor is stopped and there is load on the wire rope.

Whether you ride across endless miles of barren desert, knee deep snow, shifting sand, or slimy mud, your ATV is uniquely suited for whatever type of terrain you come across. A clear set of instructions makes the job much easier, especially if your machine is pre-wired for it. However, there is more to using the winch than reeling out the cable and dragging yourself or a buddy out of a jam.
If you’ve ever tried to sell used cars that aren’t running anymore, then you’ve likely already had experience with winches, as the dealer drags your car onto their truck. For advice on how to use a winch safely, and to properly maintain it, we went to our friends at BlitzKrueg. The Basics BlitzKrueg sees many riders who buy a winch and then either use it incorrectly or fail to maintain it properly. Consequently, when the time comes that they really need their winch to work, they are literally between a rock and a hard place, or up the creek without a paddle.
Either way, you get the picture.

Photos of the receiver, plow mount and pin, and plow mount installed. The receiver by itself is unobtrusive, a trait I really like. The instructions that came with it aren’t bad. You’ll have to loosen or remove the winch mount bolts to install the receiver which is the most difficult part of the whole deal.

When shopping for winch accessories, remember that they need to be as tough and strong as your winch. Using no-name equipment in a recovery situation is unsafe and puts the vehicle at risk. WARN makes a full line of accessories to make winching safer and easier. WARN makes model-specific winch covers, so be sure to check the product description for compatibility with your particular winch model. Winch Bumpers Winch bumpers are body-protecting bumpers that include a built-in winch mount.

Majority of manufacturers will always suggest that one should calculate the winch rating by taking the gross weight of the ATV and multiplying it by 1. What you need to know is that this is just a minimum rating. There are several factors that will result in the winch capacity increasing.
Not a difficult task but figuring out HOW to perform the wiring itself was very time consuming, especially if you have never done it before as was my situation. The whole process took me several hours. Some ideas were stolen from the Viper winch install thread by Polaris so thanks for that, but this one is for a Warn. This is the short version of the install, for a complete install with pictures see my personal Teryx web site page HERE: I picked this brand because I am also going to install the MotoAlliance snowplow next.
The first 2 items were specially bundled so I could get the Wireless remote and it may be that normally the S winch comes with a removable wired remote with a connector that you mount and then plug in the wired remote when needed. When I purchased it the Warn XT line was being phased out in favor of the ProVantage line, and in my case the S was an “early product package” so I did not get this wired remote and didn’t want it.
So be sure you know what you are ordering as my bundled items here may be different! I learned about them on this forum and I highly recommend them as well, both for pricing and great product knowledge and advice. This thread will include wiring diagrams and pictures of some of the installation steps. Decide where to mount the Contactor: Your first choice now is where to mount the contactor.
The contactor goes in the path between the winch and the battery and acts like a relay to switch the high current. I decided to mount it right on the firewall under the hood.
